Painting, Coating and Surface Treatment
We have substantial experience treating many different materials, offering a wide range of coatings and surface treatments for the Oil & Gas, Marine and Energy Industries. Our in-house painting facilities include a blasting bay, two spray booths and an airflow box oven to provide a thorough service to our clients. Our main paint chambers are 16m x 5.6m and we have appropriate materials handling equipment for even the largest of projects.
Our Range Of Coating and Surface Treatment Solutions
COATING SERVICES
Our experts can offer a range of surface coatings and can advise on the most suitable finish to suit the substrate and final application. We can apply coatings to your machined components through dipping, spraying or brushing. Our shot blasting and shot peen services can increase the longevity of your coating.
Our coating service includes cleaning, masking, priming and coating/painting to meet your requirement and as precision engineers we always work to a high specification.
ANTI-CORROSION & LOW FRICTION FINISHES
PHOSPHATE - Pre-Treatment

Phosphate coatings are generally used as a pretreatment to coating or painting. They have strong adhesion properties, provide corrosion protection and reduce friction. They can also add anti-galling and rust inhibiting characteristics. We offer two types of phosphate coatings:
Manganese phosphate
This coating helps protect metal surfaces improving their wear resistance (for moving parts) and reducing friction. They also retain the general characteristics of phospate coatings having properties of corrosion protection, anti-galling and lubricity.
Zinc phosphate
This alternative coating helps protect ferrous metal surfaces from rusting. Also, it provides protection against corrosive agents, giving wear resistance to the piece.
MOLYBDENUM DISULFIDE

Molybdenum Disulfide (also known as Moly or MoS2) dry film lubricant is a low friction and high-performing coating often used in applications where pressures and loads are a primary concern. MoS2 coatings can provide high temperature, load carrying, wear resistance, anti-corrosion and resistance to oil, grease and solvents. It is often used in the defense and aerospace industries due to its ability to allow moving parts to handle extreme environments.
XYLAN

Xylan is a fluoropolymer which gives the properties of anti-corrosion, chemical resistance, low-friction, wear and weather resistance to surfaces.
2-Part Epoxy

2 components epoxy coatings provide high corrosion and chemical resistance as well as being characterised by very good adhesion. Depending on the type of epoxy, the properties of 2-part epoxies include protection from cold climates, abrasion and mar resistance, shielding against chloride and stress corrosion, heat resistance and more. Our experienced team will be able to advise you on the best 2-part epoxy to suit your application.
ANTI-CHAFE / ABRASION RESISTANT / NON-STICK COATINGS
FLUOROPOLYMER FILLED POLYURETHANES (e.g. TEFLON™)

Teflon™ supplies a range of fluoropolymer coatings which transfer abrasion resistant properties to the piece and increase durability and toughness. Additionally, these coatings provide low-friction, non-stick characteristics combined with high temperature resistance to extend the life cycle of the component.
HIGH-GLOSS & DURABLE
2-PACK ACRYLIC PAINT

The 2K Acrylic Paint is a high-performance, corrosion-resistant coating that gives a mirror-like gloss appearance to the piece whilst providing a tough and durable barrier to protect the component. Designed to offer superior chemical and solvent resistance, it also offers good weather resistance in even the most severe conditions. It is often used in the offshore and subsea sectors (especially oil and gas) where component longevity is challenged by corrosion.
OUR SHOT BLASTING SERVICES
GLASS BEAD
Glass Bead blasting is perfect for situations where more gentle abrasion is required. Spherical, glass beads provide an alternative to angular abrasives and are well suited to cleaning, descaling, deburring, honing and peening softer substrates where alternative shot blasting techniques would be too aggressive.
CHILLED IRON
Chilled iron shot blasting is a strong abrasive process which creates a good key for painting on carbon steel and ferrous metals by removing any mill-scale and oxides as well as unwanted paint, grease and dirt.
