Providing a comprehensive installation service for hydraulic equipment

We are the authorised installer for Tube Mac weld-free technologies which are designed to meet the demands of hydraulic installations onshore and offshore where short installation windows and high-quality standards exist. Typical installation requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • A-Frames / LARS
  • ROV/ TMS and trenching vehicles
  • Ring main
  • Installation of hydraulic power units (aboard vessels or in production facilities)
  • Connection of hydraulic control systems (aboard vessels or in production facilities)
  • Installation of hydraulically operated machinery
  • Replacement of existing hydraulic pipework
  • Upgrade of hydraulic hoses to rigid pipe

Our installation teams operate with their own equipment and RAMS and always observe the SHE protocols of our client sites.

Rigid Pipe Installation

We provide high quality, efficient service for the installation of hydraulic pipework, ensuring all equipment is finished to a high standard within restricted timeframes.

We support our clients with the design of pipe routings and offer a complete supply of materials, labour and site equipment.

As hydraulic piping work is often visible on the exterior of equipment, skilled fitters and well-maintained equipment are essential to achieving results that are both technically and aesthetically pleasing. We maintain a range of pipe cutting and precession bending equipment for pipe sizes ranging from 6mm to 3″ and have experience of working on a wide variety of equipment with challenging pipe routings and installation constraints.

For offshore and exposed applications, our teams utilise 316 Stainless Steel, Duplex or 6MO pipe and fittings supplied with batch traceability and material certification. Click here for information on our control and testing procedures.

For small bore pipework, we recommend DIN2353 tube connectors, designed for high-pressure hydraulics and incorporating an elastomeric seal. Our EO2® Form workstation is transportable to any site location and enables rapid on-site forming and installation of DIN2353 piping without additional equipment hire costs.

For SAE and CETOP Flange, larger bore pipework and pipework repairs, we recommend weld-free technologies as the most cost-effective solution for critical equipment.

We understand that for many projects the method of installation and fitting style may have already been specified. Our hydraulic installers are trained in a variety of systems most commonly encountered:

  • Twin Ferrule – Swagelok / A-Lok
  • DIN2353 – EO2 Form / Walform
  • Autoclave
  • 37o Flare Flange (JIC)
  • Welding – Socket / Butt

Tube-Mac & Pyplock Weld-free Pipe Connections

Pryme Group Hydraulics is an authorised installer of Tube-Mac 37˚ Flare Flange and Retaining Ring Flange products. These products have been used extensively in industrial, marine and oil & gas applications to provide a reliable weld-free solution for hydraulic piping saving time and money in comparison to welded solutions.

As an authorised installer, we are able to ensure installations are conducted to the highest quality and that parts and equipment are available throughout the duration of projects. Tube-Mac products are available in 316 Stainless Steel in metric and imperial dimensions with full material traceability including 3.1 Certification and part identification etching.

PYPLOK® is utilised to ensure leak-free joints in operating pressures over 9000 PSI (620 Bar). A hydraulically powered compression tool swages the fitting over the pipe or tube plastically deforming the fitting. This process forms a 360° radial compression around the pipe forming a permanent leak-free seal. The PYPLOK® technology is unique.

Flush and Pressure Test

The cleanliness and integrity of hydraulic systems is essential for achieving the maximum performance and lifetime of a system. This is even more important when operating systems with high precision components such as proportional or servo valves.

For offshore operation, where low maintenance requirements are essential, starting with a clean system and confidence in your hose and piping integrity is the first step to reliability and failure prevention. Our capabilities include:

  • Flushing in accordance to ISO23309:2007
  • Flow settings calculated to create turbulent flow through each pipe or hose
  • Oil cleanliness levels are displayed and recorded using a particle counter
  • Certified to NAS 1638 and ISO 4406 standards
  • Pellet cleaning for none critical applications
  • Hose register and tagging
  • Individual hose assemblies identified with test reference number, time and date
  • Pressure test certificates issued for each hose/pipe

Hydraulic Hose Installation

Hydraulic hoses are an essential part of virtually all hydraulic systems. We offer our clients a comprehensive hose assembly and installation service for industrial and marine applications. For new equipment, we can assist in the planning of hose routings and in determining the best transition sequences between flexible hose and rigid pipe.

To ensure the integrity and quality of our installations, we work in accordance with ISO17165-2 which covers the following critical requirements:

  • Best practice for hose routing
  • Minimum bend radius
  • Material compatibility
  • Assembly cleanliness and flushing
  • Pressure testing of assembled hoses
  • Use of validated hose and end fitting combinations

As standard, we supply pressure test and flushing certificates and where required we are able to provide full material traceability certificates and installed hose registers.

Commissioning Services

At Pryme Group Hydraulics, we provide a comprehensive commissioning service for hydraulic equipment. Effective commissioning of equipment allows running in issues to be identified and addressed in a safe and (LW1) controlled manner without disruption to operational activities. A commissioning report is always provided as part of the final documentation pack. Common activities addressed during commissioning include:

  • Pre-setting of valves to operational values for speed and pressure
  • Oil sampling to verify system cleanliness
  • Elimination of pipe and hose clashes through full range of movement
  • Verification of e-stop features
  • Testing of HMI control systems
  • Operator training
